For people who study and people who teach

AccademIAAI for Schools and Universities

The AI tools that genuinely help students and teachers, from lower secondary school to university. For each one: what it really costs, from what age you can use it, where your data ends up.

We checked each one on the provider’s own pages on 22 October 2026. 🔎 marks the tools designed to keep hallucinations to a minimum: they answer by citing sources, or work only on your own materials. Always double-check what an AI writes.

For head teachers and teachers

Are you a school?

Three Italian rules change how AI is used in the classroom. Here is what they actually ask, without the scaremongering.

  • DM 166/2025

    Today’s guidelines

    • A data protection impact assessment (DPIA) before using a tool with students’ data.
    • A privacy notice for families and, for under-14s, parental consent.
    • Prompts without personal data, and tools that do not keep conversations.
    • A staff training plan, included in the school’s three-year plan (PTOF).
    Read the official text
  • D.Lgs. 179/2026

In force from 23 October 2026

    • A teacher training plan worth up to €100 million (art. 37).
    • By January 2027, a ministerial decree on AI training for teachers (art. 38).
    • School rules and the school–family agreement to be updated, with regional committees (art. 38).
    • Until the new decree, the DM 166 guidelines remain in force.
    Read the official text
  • DM 219/2025

    If you have training-hub funding

    • The 2,100 funded schools wrap up their activities by the end of 2026.
    • They need train-the-trainer courses and in-person workshops, in groups of 10 and of 5.
    • Everything runs through the Scuola Futura platform, using the European DigCompEdu framework.
    Read the official text

Good to know: AI Act training has no 2 August 2026 deadline and no compulsory certificate (Lombardy Regional School Office note of 2 July 2026). It matters, but it should be done properly, not in a rush.

How we help

  • AI training for teachers and staff, built around the training-hub requirements: train-the-trainer courses, workshops, small groups.
  • A DM 166 kit: impact assessment, privacy notice for families, school rules.
  • This page, kept up to date, as a guide for your teachers.
